Seagate's New FreeAgent For Mac Delivers Performance, Capacity And Style
written by Snoops - June 25, 2009 12:00
Seagate today introduced an advanced line-up of mobile and desktop FreeAgent for Mac storage solutions and accessories. The FreeAgent Go for Mac with USB, FreeAgent Go Pro for Mac, the 2TB FreeAgent Desk for Mac and FreeAgent Go Dock+, a powered USB hub and dock for the FreeAgent Go.Providing a complete storage toolkit for today's creative professionals, such as web designers, musicians and graphic artists, as well as multimedia enthusiasts, these enhanced FreeAgent for Mac external hard drives each include performance and capacity improvements to help store, record, protect and share creative inspirations.

Performance is all that counts when I record. I can depend on Seagate hard drives for quality and convenience. When recording, a song could take up to a few gigabytes, but the fact that I can have a whole record ready for me to attack and record on a slim external hard drive is so convenient that its value is immeasurable said Rami Jaffee, award-winning keyboard player for the Wallflowers and Foo Fighters.

Higher performance means faster workflow, and that equals greater productivity for creative professionals who work with digital video, music, photography and graphic arts. The FreeAgent Go Pro for Mac clocks in at 7200RPMs to deliver lightening fast performance and throughput with FireWire 800/400 interface for those that need higher-data transfer, making production and editing of large multi-media files a breeze.

Along with the new Mac offerings, Seagate also unveiled a new docking accessory for the FreeAgent Go portable storage solution. The new FreeAgent Go Dock+ connects directly to your Mac OS X or Windows computer, allowing access to all the content stored on a FreeAgent Go or FreeAgent Go for Mac external hard drive without fumbling with cables or trying to find an available USB port each time the drive is connected. When docked, the FreeAgent Go drive is held upright to optimize desk space while editing, syncing or backing-up files. This new dock also provides the benefit of a powered USB hub with three additional USB ports to connect digital cameras and other USB peripherals to one's system.

Whether your passion is music, photography, film or design, creative professionals and enthusiasts alike need high-quality storage solutions to keep their inspired creations safe and secure. These latest FreeAgent for Mac offerings provide the perfect instrument to store, back up and protect your creations says Terry Cunningham, senior vice president, Seagate Branded Solutions.

All Seagate FreeAgent for Mac solutions come formatted as HSF+ for Mac OS X and are Time Machine ready.
